Meeting Date: April 18, 2007 Attendance General: 18 Officers: 4 Special guests: none Club president Ron Magdanz called the meeting to order at 7:05pm March 21, 2007 meeting minutes were read by club secretary, Charlie Haven. Motion to accept minutes as read: Kyle Quella Second the motion: Joe Plautz Treasurer’s report was read by club treasurer, Peggy Rusch Motion to accept treasures report: Ryan Heiting Second the motion: Randy Yeager Old Business The club needs to make a proposal to Slinger on what type of heat race to run in addition to the feature race. Jerry Quella stated that if we run a dash we should run it early enough if people need to make repairs for the feature. Ron Magdanz stated the feature is usually late in the program. Peggy Rusch suggested maybe the dash should be for money only, no points. Eric Johnson suggested that the dash should be the first race of the program. Jeff Looker suggested that all trucks should run the dash. Jerry Quella suggested the first race should determine the starting line up for the feature, maybe full inversion. A straw vote was taken to run a 10 lap dash with all trucks giving feature points and the feature would be 20 laps giving feature points and the feature would be full inversion from dash race, 15 for and 0 against. Golden Sands is still looking for a sponsor for the trucks, it doesn't appear that the track will find us any sponsorship money. Discussion was held on what to earmark the fee money for. A motion to put all fee money towards the away series and also to put 50/50 profits towards the away series was made by Eric Johnson and seconded by Kyle Quella. Motion carried. Discussion was held on if we want to assign parking spots for the pits at WIR. Discussion was tabled till tech day to see if we could bring haulers to the pits to see how they would fit with the guard rails moved. It was noted that the drag strip will be racing the day of our tech inspection and we may not be able to go onto the drag strip with our haulers. New Business Peggy Rusch has the club website stickers that will be required by all trucks to run on the back of their cab in white or black. Peggy Rusch has the 2006 tax return for anybody that wishes to see it. Ron Magdanz stated during the March FRRC meeting the club is still trying to figure out how to restart races, pick a lane with the cone or double file straight up 1, 3, 5, 7 on the inside and 2, 4, 6, 8 on the outside. The FRRC will dictate this to the club. A straw vote was taken on what the drivers prefer: 8 for pick a lane and 3 for standard double file. Ron Magdanz presented to the club that we should have a small trophy for the semi feature winner at WIR. Trophy would cost approximately $6. Motion was made for club to buy trophies for semi feature race by Wayne Van Handle and seconded by John Roeser. Motion carried. Peggy Rusch was not able to speak with Midwest Homes our potential sponsor to discuss the terms of the contract and has no cost on the stickers that each club member would be required to run. Randy Yeager stated that Andy Dubey needs $150 immediately if we are to continue with the web site. It was stated by Ron Magdanz that it was voted on and approved during the January meeting and Randy should get a check after the meeting. Scott Baker addressed the club to ask what kind of penalties would be enforced for reckless driving on the track. The officers have written warning sheets and they'll make every effort to use them during the 2007 season. Each driven in question would receive one written warning and with the second warning the driver will start to receive penalties. Joe Plautz addressed the club and asked what the heat and feature trucks counts would be for this year. Per our 2007 rule if we had 28 trucks the third heat would have 7 trucks, the second heat would have 7 trucks and the first heat would have 14 trucks. A discussion was held, a motion was made by Ryan Heiting to: 25 or less trucks then 16 will be in the feature on time and 2 will transfer from the first heat. Under 21 trucks there would be no semi feature, all trucks would be in the feature. Seconded by Joe Plautz, motion carried. Randy Yeager asked the club on how and what will be tech'ed during race day. Ron stated the feature winner, the semi feature winner, and one random draw from the top ten qualifiers, same as last year. If fuel is chosen to be tech'ed for the night everybody will be tech'ed. Ron Magdanz will keep tech inspection equipment in his trailer. If the driver is not present when the tech inspection committee is ready to inspect the truck the driver will loose points for the evening. It was asked if the club could print the minor release forms and the hold harmless forms. The hold harmless forms must be signed every racing event and will be located on a clip board near the posted line ups. Randy Yeager addressed the club and asked if we are going to tech by the written rule in the rule book as he stated some rules are gray and are the heads with the spark plug moved legal? It was suggested that the heads and carbs have a run off period of 2007 and the rule would be addressed in the fall of 2007. Ron Magdanz stated the tech committee will tech per the rule book. A motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 9:07pm by Brandon Kuckdorf and seconded by Eric Johnson, motion carried. Addendum A: Results to review 2007 rules and how the should be interpreted meeting held immediately after the club meeting. Present were Ron Magdanz, Rob Vandermoss, Peggy Rusch, Charlie Haven, John Roeser, Ryan Heiting, and Eric Johnson. Rules discussed were heads with spark plug moved: vote was taken and the results were the heads will be illegal for 2007. Modifications to the carb body were discussed and a vote was taken that bodies that were modified would be legal for the 2007 race season. A vote was taken on if the Yamaha 540 SRV motor was a legal motor, the results is that it would be illegal for the 2007 race season. All seven members participating voted.
